Mexican government says citizens of the country have been abused in the U.S. “crocodile devil island”

On September 19th, local time, Mexican Foreign Minister de la Fuente said that the Mexican government confirmed that some Mexican citizens were abused in the immigration detention facility named "Crocodile Alcatraz Island" in Florida, USA. Up to now, Mexican consular services have provided assistance to 198 Mexican citizens.

De La Fuente said that although the Mexican government can't directly conduct legal proceedings, lawyers hired by the consulate or defenders of detainees are carrying out related work.

The “Crocodile Demon Island” facility, part of the Trump administration’s massive evacuation of illegal immigrants, started construction for just two months and was officially put into service on July 1, until the facility was not fully completed. It is that the number of people detained at the facility was close to 1,000. However, disputes around the facility are ongoing and there have been several lawsuits.
