On September 19, Argentina's Buenos Aires Provincial Parliament approved a bill banning primary school students from using mobile phones in classrooms.

The bill stipulates that primary school students are prohibited from using mobile phones and other devices with electronic screens in class unless for teaching needs. The bill also requires signs to be posted on campus to explain the risks of excessive use of mobile phones and electronic screens, and provide advice on healthy use.

The provincial senator Emmanuel Gonzales Santalia said on social media, ¡°We want to improve the quality of education through this law, encourage students to concentrate in the classroom and protect children from premature exposure to screens,¡± but stressed that ¡°this law does not rule out technology.¡±

According to the Argentine media Page 12, according to statistics, 54% of students admit to being distracted by using electronic devices. Experts warn that premature exposure to electronic screens can affect attention, language and emotional development.

Previously, the Argentine city of Buenos Aires, the province of Neuken and the province of Salta have also implemented measures to ban the use of electronic products such as mobile phones on campus.
