Trump: U.S. military strikes drug ship again, kills three people

On September 19, local time, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on social media that he had ordered the U.S. military to strike a “drug ship” in international waters, killing three male suspects on board.

Trump said the U.S. military fired at ships carrying “illegal drugs” in international waters located in the Southern Command’s responsibility zone, which are affiliated with “terrorist organizations” and are sailing along “contraband channels.”

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he ordered U.S. troops to attack a “drug ship” allegedly from Venezuela in international waters that day, killing three men on board.

Recently, the U.S. has deployed several warships in the Caribbean waters near Venezuela to "fight Latin American drug traffickers" and the relations between the two countries continue to be tense. In response to U.S. President Trump's claim to have hit three drug trafficking ships, Venezuelan Interior Minister Cavallo said there is no evidence that drugs were hidden on the ships that were attacked by the United States.
