U.S. government terminates the legal status of thousands of Syrian immigrants in the United States

On September 19th, local time, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that it would terminate the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) for Syrian immigrants in the United States on the grounds that it was "not in the interests of the United States" to continue to maintain the humanitarian project.
