On September 18th, the 60th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held an interactive dialogue on the report submitted by Turck, High Commissioner for Human Rights, in accordance with the resolution "Promoting and Protecting Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the Context of Eliminating Inequality" sponsored by China.

China¡¯s Deputy Head of Delegation Ambassador Li Shimei said that ensuring everyone¡¯s equal enjoyment of social and cultural rights is an important goal for the realization of all human rights.On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, we must adhere to genuine multilateralism and enhance dialogue and cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual respect; we must adhere to the supreme ideas of the people, increase the investment in social and cultural rights; we must strengthen solidarity and cooperation, promote developed countries to provide more vigorous support to developing countries and ensure that no one is left behind.

In the dialogue, the parties highly appreciated China¡¯s leading role in the field of social and cultural rights, and supported China¡¯s proposal of a resolution of the same name, which is based on the present and a vision for the future, and aims to overcome differences in ideas, take concrete action, and jointly seek the greatest number of cooperation conventions to contribute to the healthy and long-term development of the global human rights cause.
