Breaking-News >> WorldNews Foreign media: Houthi armed drones hit an Israeli hotel in Eilat, instantly triggering a fire
According to the Israeli Times and Iran's Maher news agency, video footage shows that Yemen's Houthi armed forces launched a drone on 18 local time, hitting the building of a hotel in Eilat in southern Israel and instantly triggered a fire. The Israeli Times quoted authorities as saying that the attack caused damage, but no people were killed. The Israeli police said in a statement that “the police have blocked the scene and dismantling experts are working to identify the objects and clean the debris.” The Israeli military said in another statement that search and rescue teams are operating in the affected area and that the Israeli Air Force is investigating the reasons why it failed to intercept the drone. Yemen’s Houthi Armed Forces announced on the evening of September 18 that its armed forces had used a ballistic missile and several drones on the same day to strike multiple targets within Israel. The Israeli Defense Army said the operations were a response to Israel’s military escalation in the Gaza Strip and to the “aggression” in Yemen, “all successfully achieving its intended targets,” and stressed that the Eilat region will continue to be within the range of Hussein-armed strikes. Since Israel resumed its military operations on the Gaza Strip on March 18, the Houthi armed forces have fired at least 87 ballistic missiles and 40 drones on Israel, according to Israeli media.
