Memphis lawmakers oppose Trump's plan to send a National Guard

According to US media reports, some members of Memphis City Council in Tennessee proposed a resolution on September 18th, local time, urging Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee to reject US President Trump's plan to deploy federal law enforcement officers and National Guard to Memphis. These members believe that,Deploying soldiers doesn’t solve Memphis’s crime problem, but could put residents and law enforcement personnel at risk.

Earlier, Trump signed an order on the 15th to set up a Memfis City Security Special Working Group to send the National Guard to the local area to combat criminal activity.Memphis City-affiliated Shelby County Democratic County Councilor Harris said that sending the National Guard to Memphis would hurt the community and the country and damage the rights of the people.
