According to the Japan Radio Association, a Japanese Self-Defense Force search and rescue aircraft U-125A crashed out of the runway when it landed at the airport in Niigata on the 19th.

According to reports, the aircraft was undergoing training at the time of the incident, with five people on board. All the runways impacted by the accident were temporarily closed at Niigata Airport. Relevant parties are investigating the cause of the aircraft leaving the runway.
