The United States once again vetoes Security Council draft resolution on Gaza with one vote

On the afternoon of September 18 local time, Beijing time today (September 19), the UN Security Council voted at its 10,000th session on a draft resolution on a ceasefire in Gaza proposed by 10 non-national members. The draft resolution was not adopted because of the United States, the permanent member, again vetoed.

The result of the vote was 14 in favor, and the United States voted against

The draft calls for an immediate and unconditional permanent ceasefire in Gaza; The Council demands the immediate, dignified and unconditional release of all detainees held by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other groups; Demands that the government of Israel immediately and unconditionally lift all restrictions on humanitarian access to Gaza, ensure the safe and unhindered distribution of aid in large quantities to the population of Gaza in need of such assistance, and ensure the full restoration of all basic services.
