In August, Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency of the United States, publicly identified Cook as his "main residence" at the same time to obtain a more favorable loan interest rate, and submitted relevant criminal charges to the Ministry of Justice. Trump dismissed Cook on August 25th on the grounds of suspected mortgage fraud. Cook has denied any wrongdoing and filed the lawsuit on Aug. 28.
The Trump administration filed an emergency application to a Federal Circuit Court of Appeal on September 11, asking the court to overturn the lower court’s ruling on Cook’s case “before the 15th.” The U.S. Federal Court of Appeal ruled on September 15, preventing Trump from resigning General Lisa Cook before the Federal Reserve’s Interest Meeting.
