In response to this, the Ministry of Commerce spokesman Hoya Dong said that from September 14 to 15, local time, the Sino-U.S. Economic and Trade Team held talks in Madrid, Spain.The two sides led by the important consensus between the two heads of state, reached a basic framework consensus on properly solving TikTok-related issues, reducing investment barriers, and promoting economic and trade cooperation.

"Regarding the TikTok issue, China's position is consistent. We oppose politicizing, instrumentalizing and weaponizing science and technology and economic and trade issues, and will never seek to reach any agreement at the expense of principled positions, corporate interests and international fairness and justice. At the same time, the Chinese government fully respects the wishes of enterprises and supports enterprises to conduct equal business negotiations on the basis of market principles," he said.

He Yadong said that the Chinese government will examine and approve the technology export, intellectual property rights, authorization of use rights and other matters involved in TikTok in accordance with the law. He also hopes that the United States can provide an open, fair, just and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies including TikTok to continue to operate in the United States in accordance with the consensus reached by both sides, and promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of Sino-US economic and trade relations.
