Federal Reserve announces 25 basis point rate cut

On September 17, local time, the Federal Reserve's latest Federal Open Market Commission (FOMC) monetary policy meeting record showed that the Federal Reserve decided toCut the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points to between 4.00%-4.25%This is the first rate cut by the Federal Reserve since December 2024.

U.S. employment growth in recent months has been much lower than expected to eventually bring down the Fed’s interest rate measures. Markets have previously predicted that similar rates could be reduced in the last two Fed policy meetings at the end of October and early December this year.
