An illegal migrant ship burned near Libya, killing 50 people

Xinhua News Agency, Tunisia, September 17 (Reporter Huang Ling) Tripoli News: According to Libyan media reports, a ship carrying illegal immigrants from Sudan caught fire in the waters near Libya a few days ago, killing at least 50 people on board.

The Libyan newspaper Medium, citing reports from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), on Friday that a boat carrying 75 Sudanese illegal immigrants burned in waters near Libya, killing at least 50 people on board.

On April 15, 2023, armed conflict broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and the war spread to other regions, resulting in more than 12 million people displaced so far.
