The Peace of Paris, a 1763 peace treaty between Britain and Hanover and France and Spain that ended the Seven Years' War. The peace treaty stipulated that Britain would acquire Canada and the area east of the Mississippi River that originally belonged to France. Britain would exchange Havana for Florida in Spain. As compensation, Spain would acquire Louisiana from France. In addition, Britain also gained in India, the Caribbean and West Africa.
