Foreign media: Rubio calls Iran’s missile program “unacceptable risk”, Iran rejects “nonsense”

According to AFP, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio recently criticized Iran's missile program, calling it "unacceptable risk".

“Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Baghe, told reporters that the United States “should not comment on the defense capabilities of a country that has decided to safeguard its independence at all costs.”

Baghdad said the missile program was a means for Iran to “resist the greed, aggression and attack of foreign forces – including the United States and the Zionist regime.”

In a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Mr. Rubio said that if Iran possesses nuclear weapons and missiles capable of delivering these weapons at a distance, “this is an unacceptable risk, not only for Israel, for the United States, but for the whole world.”

Iran and Britain, France and Germany had talks on the nuclear issue in Geneva on August 26 local time. The three countries threatened to launch a "rapid resumption of sanctions" mechanism at the end of August with the intention of resuming sanctions on Iran. The Iranian government and the public said that for a long time, Western countries led by the United States have imposed unilateral sanctions on Iran in violation of international law, and Iran will not succumb to pressure.
