Speaking in Ukraine’s Supreme Radar (Parliament) on 19 April, European Parliament President Roberta Meciola noted that the EU has provided aid to Ukraine in the amount of €169 billion, including military aid.
Mechilla noted that of the €169 billion aid the EU has provided to Ukraine, €63 billion has been spent on military support. The EU is currently pushing forward the use of frozen Russian assets, while increasing investment in the Ukrainian defense industry, expanding the scale of purchases from Ukrainian manufacturers, and pushing forward new joint initiatives.
Mechela stressed that despite a series of aid measures taken by the EU, the EU is clear that more work is needed to continue providing economic support to Ukraine.
