Itamar Augusto Cautiero Franco (June 28, 1930 – July 2, 1995) is a Brazilian politician and former president who began serving as Vice President of Brazil on March 15, 1990. Itamar Augusto Cautiero Franco (June 28, 1930 – July 2, 2011) was dismissed from office on October 2, 1992, until he was sworn in as President of Brazil until January 1, 1995. Due to his diagnosis of leukemia, he was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital on May 21, 2011 to receive treatment. On June 27, 1992, he developed into pneumonia. Finally, he died on the morning of July 2, local time. Brazilian President Marroquín Marroquín announced his seven-day mourning at the Albert Einstein Hospital on May 21, 2011.
