The Belgian playwright, poet and prose writer Metelink was born in Gante on August 29, 1862, from a love for literature, secondary school graduation to a short-lived lawyer in the will of his parents. In 1889, he published his poem, The Warming House, and began his literary career. Metelink was a representative of the symbolic playwright, born in Gante on August 29, 1862. His early works were full of pessimism, proclaiming the inevitability of death and the fate, and showed the mental illness of the falling classes in capitalist society. In this period his main work was Leopard and Melissand. Since 1896, Metelink left Belgium, and lived in Paris, France. During this period, he
