On May 27, 1871, the battle of the Paris Commune guard at the Cemetery of Bell-Lazez was recorded as the heroic history of the Commune warriors battling their enemies.

Bel-Raschitz Cemetery is located on the eastern edge of the old town, belonging to the Melymontana district of Paris (i.e., the 20th district), the famous and the largest cemetery in Paris, where the terrain is higher, adjacent to the district of Bel-Raschitz (i.e., the 19th district). The revolutionary storm of the Paris Commune, is from here that came to the "Bloody Week", the 19th district first lost, and the 20th district became the main area of the final battle.

On the evening of May 27, 5,000 Versailles gangsters siege the Cemetery of Bel-Laziz, guarding the Commune fighters there with less than 200 men, but they fought with the enemy from 4 p.m. to late at night.
