At the request of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an emergency debate was held on the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council on the Israeli attack on Qatar on September 16. China's permanent office in Geneva and other international organizations representatives in Switzerland attended and spoke.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Israel¡¯s attacks on Qatar, openly violating Qatar¡¯s territorial sovereignty and national security, violating international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and undermining peace efforts, are firmly opposed and strongly condemned by China. Respect for the territory and sovereign integrity of other countries is the basic norm of international relations, but Israel has ignored this, and has dismissed military actions against neighboring countries. Qatar is an important mediator in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, has made a lot of efforts to promote the ceasefire and restore peace, and is highly recognized by the international community that Israel¡¯s conduct is a deliberate destruction of the ceasefire negotiations.

China strongly calls on all relevant parties, especially Israel, to make more active efforts to calm the war and resume negotiations, seriously fulfill international human rights law and humanitarian law obligations, and respect the rights of the people of neighbouring countries to survive.
