On 4 March 1998, the preliminary results of the election of the 12th Indian People's Chamber (the House of Representatives) were revealed, and the Indian People's Party and its alliance seized 250 seats in the 545 seats of the People's Chamber, becoming the head of the political parties. On the evening of 15 March, the new government won a vote of confidence in the parliament, appointing the leader of the Indian People's Party Parliament, Attal Bihari Wazepei, as prime minister, and authorizing him to form a cabinet. On 19 March, Wazepei vowed to become India's sixteenth prime minister. On the evening of March 28, the new government won a vote of confidence in the parliament. The Indian People's Party was elected by the General Assembly in December 24, 1951, and
