On December 5, 1979, the 34th General Assembly of the United Nations adopted, without a vote, the "Regulations governing the activities of nations on the moon and other celestial bodies", abbreviated as the "Agreement on the moon". The agreement concerns the exploration and use of the moon, the freedom to conduct scientific research, the sampling and protection of minerals, the establishment of moon landing bases and the launching of satellites to the moon. The main provisions include: declaring the moon and its natural resources to be the common property of all human beings, the moon shall not be prohibited by the state on the basis of sovereignty, by the use, occupation or otherwise in its possession; the moon should be freely exploited for peaceful purposes;
