On February 24, 1912 the Nanjing Provisional Government stipulated: In the future, officials will abolish the term "Grandman" and "Lord" and all will be referred to as officials; the people will be referred to as "Mr." or "Mr.". This provision reflects the spirit of the Xinjiang Revolution against feudal authoritarianism and against the feudal level.
