3 March 1871 Liberation of Bulgaria
The Republic of Bulgaria (the Republic of Bulgaria) is a country on the Balkan peninsula in southeastern Europe. It borders Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey, and is on the east bank of the Black Sea. The country has an area of 110,910 square kilometers, ranked 103rd in the world. The total population of 797,4 million. On February 27, 1990, the 3rd of March was celebrated as a national holiday, and on November 15, the same year, the country was renamed the Republic of Bulgaria. On May 11, 2005, the Bulgarian Parliament voted to ratify Bulgaria's accession to the EU Treaty. The provisions adopted by the Constitution of July 12, 1991, established parliamentary system as a state.
