110 years ago today, on June 27, 1915 (May 15 of the Lunar calendar), film artist Zhao Dan was born.

Zhao Dan, formerly Zhao Feng Xiaoping. Born on June 27, 1915 in Shandong·Ê City, then moved to Jiangsu Nanjing. In high school, he participated in the organization of the "Little Theater Society". In 1931 he entered the Shanghai School of Fine Arts Specialty School of National Painting, then participated in the left-wing theatre movement, taking the artistic name "Dan".

In 1932, he starred in the movie ¡°Biwa Spring¡± and first appeared in the cinema, after which he filmed more than 20 films such as ¡°Shanghai Twenty-Four Hours¡±, ¡°Hot Blood Faithful Soul¡±, and showed his performance talent. In 1935, he participated in the Shanghai Amateur Theatre Association, performing the world-famous drama ¡°Puppet House¡±, ¡°Great Rain¡± and others. From 1936 to 1937, he starred in the two excellent films ¡°Cross Street¡± and ¡°Malay Road Angels¡±, and after the outbreak of the war, participated in the performance of the big drama ¡°Defense Alu Bridge¡±, and then participated in the three teams of anti-Japanese death acts. In 1938, he was persecuted in Xinjiang.

In 1943, he went to Chongqing to participate in the rescue and rescue theatre.After the victory of the war, he returned to Shanghai, joined Kunlong Film Industry Company, and took part in the filming of "Happiness Fantasy", "Ly Man" and "War Exercise", especially with the performance of "Crabs and Monkeys".

After the founding of New China, he starred in films such as "Lee Hyun Jing", "Hai Yin", "Lin Xu", "Ner" and other films, and wrote, directed, and performed "Shanghai Love" (Yi Lu Chang). has served as the first, second and third delegates of the National People's Congress, the National Political Council member, China Film Association, the Shanghai Film Association permanent director, and vice president of the Shanghai Film Association.

He was imprisoned for more than five years during the "Cultural Revolution".After crushing the "Band of Four", he dedicated himself to performing art teaching.He wrote "Screen Imaging" and "The Gate of Hell."He died on October 10, 1980.
