First commercial flight from Paris to London

Flight from Paris to London.

On February 9, 1919, a commercial aircraft completed its first return flight between Paris and London, which was an innovation in European flight history. The plane, called the Goliath, took off from England at 12:20 p.m. and arrived at an airport near Versailles in France three hours and 30 minutes later. The Goliath had two engines with a maximum flight speed of 97 miles per hour. The French pilot said he encountered several problems during yesterday’s flight from Paris to London. He said the north wind was too strong at the time. But the passengers didn’t seem to complain.
