On August 5, 1950 (June 22 of the Lunar calendar), the Taiwan National Party launched the "reformation movement".

Chiang Kai-shek summoned the meeting of the "Central Reform Committee" and headed to the right: Chiang Kai-shek, Zhang Zhen, Zhang Dao, Chen Chen, and Chiang Kai-shek.

On August 5, 1950, the Central Reform Commission of the National Party was established in Taipei, and through the Central Reform Commission's Organization Program, Chiang Kai-shek was appointed the chairman of the committee, Zhang Zhen as secretary-general, and Zhou Yong-tao as deputy secretary-general. The main contents of the reform movement include: party members return, party members reorganize, refresh party political relations, carry out public movements, strengthen social investigation, local party affairs reform, anti-Communist anti-Russian general mobilization, etc. The National Party authorities attempted to ease the political, economic and diplomatic crises faced after the defeat of Taiwan.
