Today, 30 years ago, on December 4, 1995 (Calendar, October 13, 1995) the United States announced its withdrawal from the UNO. On December 4, 1995, U.S. Representative John Ritch announced at the 6th UNO General Assembly, which opened in Vienna, that the United States would withdraw from the UNO at the end of 1996 due to "domestic budget difficulties". Ritch said that the United States "does not believe that the UNO's reform efforts have failed", but that the organization "has recorded efficiency in questionable terms".
