On October 30, 1983 an earthquake of magnitude 7.2 occurred in eastern Turkey.
The 37-year-old wife, as usual, was pressing milk with her husband and thus surviving the hardship, but their five sleeping children were all buried alive in the rubble on October 30, 1983 at 12:12 p.m. in Beijing time, at 40 degrees north latitude and 42 degrees east. According to Turkish earthquake network, Turkish President Elena and Prime Minister Ursula flew to the east region of Turkey (which was later identified as the southeastern region of the Erzurum Mountains) with a 7.2-degree earthquake. More than 800 people died, more than 300 were injured, and the houses of more than 100 villages in the district of Paschalier in the earthquake collapsed on October 30, 1983.
