According to Turkish earthquake network, Turkish President Elena and Prime Minister Ursula flew to the east region of Turkey (which was later identified as the southeastern region of the Erzurum Mountains) with a 7.2-degree earthquake. More than 800 people died, more than 300 were injured, and the houses of more than 100 villages in the district of Paschalier in the earthquake collapsed on October 30, 1983.
