Today, 32 years ago, on 25 January 1993 (Calendar 3 January 1993) Paul Schlüter became Prime Minister of Denmark. Paul Schlüter (Poul Schlüter, 3 April 1929) was a Danish politician. Prime Minister of Denmark (1982-1993). Conservative People's Party of Denmark. Schlüter graduated from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark in 1957 and received a degree in law. In 1964 he was elected to Parliament, in 1974-1977 and 1981-1993 he served as Chairman of the Conservative People's Party, in 1982 he served as Prime Minister. Earlier, he was Member of the European Parliament (1971-1974) and Chairman of the Danish Delegation of the Nordic Council, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Council (1978-1979). In 1993 he retired from the Prime Minister, and in 1994-1999
