47 years ago today, on August 12th, 1978 (July 9th, 1978 in the lunar calendar), the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship was signed. On August 12, 1978, the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship was signed in Beijing. Hua Guofeng, Deng Xiaoping and Liao Chengzhi attended. Huang Hua and Japanese Foreign Minister Nao Yuanda signed the treaty on behalf of their countries respectively.
