Today, 34 years ago, on March 3, 1991 (Calendar 17 January 1991) the United Nations Maritime Silk Road Expedition arrived at the end of the Japanese island of Osaka. On March 3, 1991, after 132 days of sea navigation and land exploration, the United Nations Maritime Silk Road Expedition arrived in Osaka on the morning of March 3, 1991 by the Peace Ark in Japan. Osaka was the old port of ancient Japanese travelling to China and the last stop of this 28,000-kilometre maritime expedition. A team of 30 countries and 50 experts, young scholars and journalists left Marocopo on October 23, 1990, with a system of complete and unprecedented inspections along this legendary ancient trade route to China.
