May 24, 2014 Yunnan Yingjiang earthquake with magnitude 5.6
On May 24, 2014 (April 26, 2014 in the lunar calendar), an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in Yingjiang, Yunnan. As of 14:30 on May 25th, the Yingjiang earthquake of magnitude 5.6 had injured 15 people (including 1 student). 52 village committees, 242 villagers' groups, 17 farm production teams, and 7,588 households with 27,600 people in the county were affected to varying degrees, causing economic losses of 367 million yuan. According to the report, as of May 25th, the "5.24" earthquake in Yingjiang County affected 311,000 people in 15 towns and Yingjiang Farm in the county, resulting in 242 villagers' groups in 52 village committees and 17 production teams in 3 sub-fields of Yingjiang Farm, with a total of 7,558 households with 27,600 people affected to varying degrees; Three towns, Kachang Town, Mengnong Township and Sudian Township, were seriously affected. According to preliminary statistics, 15 people (including 1 student) were injured in this disaster. Houses collapsed and damaged 7,310 households and 36,508 rooms. Among them: 21 households with 63 houses collapsed; Seriously damaged 2,260 households and 11,300 rooms; 5,029 households and 25,145 rooms were slightly damaged; Set up 16 resettlement sites (including 8 in Kachang Town, 3 in Taiping Town, 4 in Mengnong Township, and 1 farm), and urgently relocate 2,857 households with 10,100 people; There are 36 damaged schools in the county.
