After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, Japan drove away the forces of the Qing Empire from Korea. After the Russo-Japanese War, it drove away the forces of the imperial Russia in Korea, forming a situation where one family dominated. In November, 1905, Japan forced North Korea to sign the "B Protection Treaty", which made North Korea a "protectorate". King Lee Hee of North Korea, unwilling to be a puppet, secretly sent envoys to appeal to the Second International Conference in The Hague in 1907, hoping that the participating countries would support North Korea's restoration of independence. However, the imperialist countries were indifferent, and even the invitation of the North Korean representative to enter the venue to speak was not received. Japan, on the other hand, used the action of the Korean king as an excuse to further annex Korea. In July of this year, the head of the Japanese occupation forces coerced Li Xi to abdicate and the prince acceded to the throne. In 1910, Japan officially annexed Korea and practiced the cruelest and barbaric "arbitrary politics". In order to eliminate the imprint of the Korean nation, the occupation authorities prohibited the Korean people from using their own clan language and using Japanese as the "national language"; It is forbidden to teach the history and geography of North Korea in schools, and it is slandered that North Korea has no country of its own since ancient times and is an "inferior nation". The colonial slavery and cruel oppression of Korea by Japanese imperialism aroused the great anger of the Korean people. On January 22, 1919, Lee Hee, the deposed king of North Korea, died suddenly. The rumor that "he was poisoned by Japanese imperialism" spread like wildfire, shaking the whole country. Taking this as the fuse, the anger that had been suppressed in the hearts of the Korean people for a long time finally burst out like magma. On March 1, 1919, thousands of workers, students, peasants and other classes held a rally in Tadong Park in Seoul. The people attending the meeting were passionate and shouted slogans such as "Long live the independence of Korea", "Japanese and Japanese troops get out of Korea" and "North Korea is the Korea of the Korean people". After the meeting, 300,000 people held a massive * demonstration. The Japanese occupying forces had a forest of sentries, armed with live ammunition, and carried out a bloody suppression on the demonstrators, killing, wounding and arresting countless people. This angered the Korean people even more, and the anti-Japanese demonstrations immediately turned into armed uprisings. The uprising masses fought heroically with the Japanese military police and police, and the capital was full of fighting day and night. The heroic struggle of the Seoul masses quickly spread to the whole Korean territory. By the end of December, more than 3,200 demonstrations and riots had taken place in 211 of the 218 prefectures and counties in China, and more than 2 million people took part in the struggle. According to incomplete statistics, from March 1 to May 31, more than 7,500 people were killed, more than 15,900 people were injured, more than 46,900 people were arrested and imprisoned, and more than 700 houses were burned. It's outrageous! The "March 1st Uprising" in North Korea was a major event in the Asian national liberation movement after the October Revolution in Russia. As General Kim Il Sung pointed out, the "March 1st Uprising" was the turning point, and the period of bourgeois national movement came to an end.
