On this day 149 years ago, on December 11th, 1876 (October 26th, 1876 in the lunar calendar), Polish composer Michislav Karlowitz was born. Mieczyslaw Karlowicz (Polish: Mieczyslaw Karlowicz, 11 December 1876-8 February 1909) was a Polish composer. He received music education in Warsaw and Berlin successively, returned to China in 1902, vigorously promoted Wagner-style music, and had a close relationship with the "Young Poland" composers group. Died of an avalanche accident in the Tatra Mountains in 1909. Karlowitz's musical style was greatly influenced by German and Austrian romanticism, especially Richard Strauss. His orchestral works are grand in scale, complex in structure, profound and sublime in connotation, but sometimes they are not easy to understand. Michislav Karowitz is a Polish composer. His masterpieces include symphony "Rebirth", violin concerto, orchestral Lithuanian Rhapsody, symphonic poem "Eternal Song" and "Stanislav and Anna".
