With the victory of the Northern Expedition, the peasant movement started in Guangdong rapidly developed to the whole country. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), peasant movements in Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Guangxi, Fujian, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other provinces started one after another. In June, 1926, farmers' associations had spread all over 17 provinces including Guangdong, Hunan and Hubei. County farmers' associations were established in more than 200 counties across the country, with more than 9.15 million members. From January 4 to February 5, 1927, Mao Zedong inspected the peasant movements in five counties in Hunan, including Xiangtan, Xiangxiang, Hengshan, Liling and Changsha, and wrote the Investigation Report of Hunan Peasant Movement, which put forward the theory and policy of solving the peasant problem, the central problem of China's democratic revolution. The main contents are as follows: First, it fully estimates the great role of farmers in China's democratic revolution. Second, it clearly pointed out the necessity of establishing revolutionary political power and peasant armed forces in rural areas. Third, scientifically analyzed all classes of farmers. Fourth, we focused on publicizing the revolutionary thought of mobilizing, organizing and relying on the masses.
