Today, 55 years ago, on July 21, 1970 (Calendar, June 19, 1970), the Aswan Dam in Egypt was completed. The 2.3-mile dam in the Pyramid of Pygisa was 17 times the size of the Pyramid on July 21, 1970. Today, the last engine on the large project that Gamal Abdel Nasser dreamed of crossing the Nile was put into operation, and the Aswan Dam was completed. This achievement was largely attributed to the Soviets. They spent hundreds of millions of dollars on the project. 5,000 Russian workers were sent to help build.
