94 years ago today, on March 2, 1931 (January 14, 1931 in the lunar calendar), the Fourth Red Army annihilated the enemy's 34th Division. From March 2 to 9, 1931, the Fourth Red Army in Hubei, Henan and Anhui Soviet Area attacked the Xinyang and Guangshui sections of the Pinghan Line. On the 2nd, he attacked Lijiazhai Station, annihilated the first part of the newly organized 12th Division of the Kuomintang Army, and killed Hou Zhenhua, the enemy brigade commander. On the 5th, Liulin Station Well was attacked and Lijiazhai Station was captured again, posing a threat to Xinyang, an important town in southern Henan where the enemy was stationed. On the 8th, the main force of the Fourth Red Army, with the cooperation of Luoshan Independent Regiment and other local troops, attacked the 34th Division of the Kuomintang Army that occupied Shuangqiao Town. At dawn on the 9th, the Red Army began to attack. After 7 hours of fierce fighting, it completely annihilated the division, captured more than 5,000 officers and men below the enemy division commander Yue Weijun, and seized more than 6,000 guns and 14 guns.
