The 15th anniversary celebration of the first anniversary of the commercial operation of Pakistani Sujinjari hydropower plant, invested in and operated by China Energy Construction Group, was held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

Iqbal said that as a key project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the hydropower plant continues to transport clean energy to Pakistan, mitigates the long-standing electricity shortage problem in Pakistan, and plays a key role in optimizing the Pakistani energy structure, reducing traditional energy dependence, and building a national energy security defense line.

In a speech to the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, Xi Jinping said that Suzhou hydropower plant as a clear energy advantage is remarkable.China-owned enterprises pay attention to active social responsibility in their operations, and social results are obvious.China is willing to continue to deepen all-round cooperation with Pakistan and jointly promote the construction of the "2.0 upgraded version" of the Chinese-Pakistan economic corridor.

Shah Jahan Mirza, General Manager of the Private Electricity and Infrastructure Commission of Pakistan, said that Sujinari Hydroelectric Power Plant has become a key force for promoting Pakistani economic growth and securing electricity for people's livelihoods.

According to the Sujijinari Hydropower Station Project Company, since it was officially put into commercial operation on September 14, 2024, the Sujijinari Hydropower Station has delivered a total of 2.8 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to Pakistan and provided more than 100 local stable jobs.
