The First National Labour Conference

On May 1, 1922, 173 delegates representing more than 110 trade unions and more than 200,000 organized workers from all over the country participated in the first National Labour Congress held in Guangzhou. Among these delegates were members of the Communist Party, members of the National Party and anarchists. The congress was chaired by Zhang Zhang, director of the Secretary-General of the Chinese Labour Organization.
