On 6 October 1984, China¡¯s first Disabled People¡¯s Games opened in Anguilla. 623 disabled athletes from 29 provinces, autonomous districts, municipalities and Hong Kong participated in the competition. During the 11-day competition, Zhao Jiang Red broke the world record for female blinds jumping B with a score of 4.96 meters, and the world record for female blinds running A6 800 meters with a score of 3 minutes 090 seconds.
