In 185 years ago, Ernst Karl Abbe (January 23, 1840-1905 January 14, 1839), a German physicist, optical scientist, and entrepreneur, was born in Eisenach, Germany. Dr. Ernst Karl Abbe was born in 1870 as Professor of Physics at the University of Jena. In 1878 he was appointed Director of the Jena Observatory. Later Ernst Abbe joined the Jena Observatory for the design and research of microscopy, and made an important contribution to the theoretical microscopy, thus becoming the co-founder of Karl-Zee (Eisenach). Ernst Abbe worked at the University of Göttingen for the study of the optical system. In 1884, Ernst Abbott and Schott contributed to the construction of the modern sense of glass in Jena.
