Today, 63 years ago, on March 2, 1962 (Calendar 26 January 1962), Premier Zhou reaffirmed that intellectuals are part of the working people. On March 2, 1962, Prime Minister Zhou Enlai issued a report on the intellectuals issue at the Scientific Work Conference and the Drama Creation Conference in Guangzhou. This report delineated the Party¡¯s intellectuals policy, criticized the leftist tendency that emerged after 1957 and reiterated the view that the vast majority of Chinese intellectuals are already part of the working people.
