Today, 36 years ago, on September 14, 1989 (August 15, 1989), the leader of the People's Organization of Southwest Africa (OAS), Nozoma, returned to his homeland. Nozoma, the leader of the People's Organization of Southwest Africa (OAS) after 30 years of exile abroad, returned to Namibia's capital, Dwiningrad, on September 14, 1989 to participate in the upcoming independence elections. His return to the country marked another important step in the process of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 435 on the independence of Namibia. Nozoma fell on the plane to kneel on the ground and kissed the land of the motherland. Thousands of Namibians welcomed him with a heroic ceremony and welcomed him back to the motherland.
