One hundred years ago today, on January 26, 1925 (January 3, 1925 in the lunar calendar), the Chinese Socialist Youth League was renamed the Chinese Communist Youth League. On January 26, 1925, the Third National Congress of the Chinese Socialist Youth League was held in Shanghai. The congress decided to change the Chinese Socialist Youth League into the Chinese Communist Youth League. Zhang Tailei was appointed as the general secretary of the Central Committee of the League, and Ren Bishi succeeded him after May of the same year.
