On this day, 34 years ago, November 19, 1991 (October 14, 1991 in the lunar calendar), Chinese-American physicist Wu Jianxiong won the Puping Medal. Wu Jianxiong was born in Taicang County, Jiangsu Province in 1912 and received a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley in 1940. In 1956, she experimentally verified the argument that the weak interaction of electrons and their mirror images are not always symmetrical to each other.
