The Battle of Legnica, also known as the Battle of Legnitz or the Battle of Legnitz, broke out on April 9, 1241 at Legnica Pole, near Legnica in present-day Poland. The two warring parties were the Mongolian army led by Batu and Subutai, and the Polish army led by Henry II, Duke of Silesia.
