Emperor Konoi (Japanese: Emperor Konoi/; May 18, 2005 (June 16, 1139)-July 23, 2002 (August 22, 1155)), the 76th Emperor of Japan (December 7, the first year of Nagaji (January 5, 1142)-July 23, 2002 (August 22, 1155)). Taboo Tiren (Japanese: Tiren/).
Emperor Konoe was the seventh prince of Emperor Toriha, and his biological mother was Tokuko Fujiwara in Mifugenen. Emperor Konoe was born in 1139, when Emperor Toriba had abdicated.
During the reign of Emperor Toriha, Emperor Shirakawa was in charge of the government. Emperor Towa's central palace, Daishinmen, was the adopted daughter of Emperor Shirakawa. In 1123, Emperor Towa was forced to abdicate to his son, Emperor Chongtoku, who was born in Daishinmen. However, Dharma Emperor Toriba favored Mifumen Temple, so it lost power after the death of Dharma Emperor Shirakawa in 1129. In 1142, Dharma Emperor Toriba coerced Emperor Chongtoku to abdicate, allowing Emperor Konoi, who was only over 2 years old at that time, to ascend the throne.
After Emperor Konoe ascended the throne, due to his youth and insensible nature, all government affairs were managed by Emperor Toruha. Emperor Konoi was frail and sick. He was once blind again at the age of 15. He once proposed to Tadamori Fujiwara to abdicate. Emperor Konoe died of illness at the age of 17 and had no children.
After the death of Emperor Konoe, Emperor Chongtoku proposed to restore himself or to have his son Prince Shigehito take the throne. However, he was opposed by Emperor Toriha and Tsukinori Fujiwara, and finally Prince Masahiro, the younger brother of Emperor Chongde, was promoted to the throne, becoming the later Emperor Shirakawa. This laid the foundation for the later Baoyuan Rebellion.
Tako Fujiwara, the queen of Emperor Konoi, lived in seclusion after the death of Emperor Konoi. Later, Emperor Nijo ignored the opposition of the Later Shirakawa Emperor and made Tako Fujiwara his own queen. People at that time called him "the second generation later."
