On July 15, 1927, Wang Jingwei Group defected and merged with Ning and Han
On this day, 98 years ago, July 15, 1927 (June 17, 1927 in the lunar calendar), Wang Jingwei Group defected to the Ning-Han Concord. After the Xuzhou Conference on June 20, Feng Yuxiang (first from left in the front row) and Chiang Kai-shek (third from left) took a group photo. On July 15, 1927, the Wuhan National Government led by Wang Jingwei rebelled against the revolution, and Ning and Han merged. When Chiang Kai-shek's counter-revolutionary arrogance was rampant, incidents of surrender and rebellion followed one after another. On May 17, 1927, Xia Douyin, commander of the 14th Division under the jurisdiction of the Wuhan National Government, defected. On the 21st, Xu Kexiang in Hunan rebelled. These incidents made Wang Jingwei's group within the Wuhan National Government even more blatantly anti-communist activities. On June 6, Wang Jingwei dismissed Borodin, the top adviser of the Soviet Union, as an adviser in the National Government. On the same day, warlord Zhu Peide defected in Jiangxi. On the 19th, Feng Yuxiang and Chiang Kai-shek held a meeting in Xuzhou and reached agreements on anti-communism, anti-Soviet, and Nining-Han cooperation. At this time, the workers and peasants 'movements in Hubei and Jiangxi had been severely devastated. More than 4700 peasant association members were killed in Hubei and 20000 peasant association members were killed in Hunan. However, Chen Duxiu still adhered to an opportunist stance and continued to adopt a tolerant and accommodating attitude towards Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei. On July 13, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was forced to order Communist Party members who joined the Kuomintang government to withdraw from the government and issued a declaration on the political situation, condemning the Kuomintang for its anti-communist crimes and expressing its desire to "severely expose all pseudo-Kuomintang people who used the banner of Dr. Sun Yat-sen to betray the revolution." On the night of the 14th, Wang Jingwei held a secret meeting in Wuhan to determine the plan for dividing the Communist Party. A branch meeting of the Communist Party of China was held on the 15th to announce the "Proposal on Unifying the Party's Policy", formally breaking with the Communist Party, closing down trade unions and peasant associations in Wuhan, and frantically massacring Communist Party members and revolutionaries, proposing that "it would rather kill a thousand people in vain than let one person slip through the net" slogan. The rebellion of Wang Jingwei's clique caused serious losses to the China revolution, and the first domestic revolutionary war finally failed.
