On September 22, 1998, with the approval of the Office of the Central Establishment Commission, the China Copyright Protection Center was announced to be established in Beijing. This center is a comprehensive copyright social management and social service institution established by the state. The main business scope of China Copyright Protection Center includes copyright agency, work registration, work identification, legal services, information services, copyright publication and many other aspects. These include computer software copyright registration, copyright registration of foreign, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan works, copyright pledge contract registration, foreign-related copyright certification work transferred by the National Copyright Administration to the Center in accordance with the institutional reform plan of the Press and Publication Administration (National Copyright Administration) approved by the State Council, publication contract registration of foreign-related audio-visual and electronic publications, etc. At the same time, with the approval of the National Copyright Administration, this center will also be responsible for organizing the collective management of copyright for written, art, photography and multimedia works. The effective development of this work will surely greatly optimize the legal environment for copyright use and improve my country's copyright protection system. It is reported that China Copyright Agency Corporation, China Software Registration Center and China Copyright Reward Collection and Transfer Center have been placed under the unified leadership and management of China Copyright Protection Center to strengthen leadership over copyright agency, copyright registration and copyright services.
